Introduction

Axe body wash is a highly toxic skin care product. This product's official name is AXE Revitalizing Shower Gel. The parent company Unilever had sales of 49.9 billion dollars in 2004. In the interests of disclosure this corporate behemoth was recently involved in a mercury scandal.

Unilever Taking the Red Pill?

The AXE brand marketed by Unilever has penetrated the public consciousness through slick marketing and packaging. Unilever claims AXE is the world's leading male grooming product because men have - like Keanu Reeves - "taken the red pill." The irony is that using this toxic product is the same as taking a poison pill - without the choice of colors!

Positives?

There is nothing positive about this product according to the ingredient label. The Axe body wash does not meet any natural ingredient parameter. In fact, if you were to inject this chemical concoction into someone's bloodstream you would be locked up. I do not say this lightly, as the penetration agent
- TETRASODIUM EDTA - in this product enables it to pass into your bloodstream unhindered.

Tested on Animals?

It is not certified organic and it uses synthetic chemicals that have been tested on animals. Unilever outsource's animal testers so as not to get their hands dirty. The fact that it is not certified organic - obviously - means that there is a possibility the product contains G.M.O - genetically modified organisms - and pesticides.

Negatives

The Axe body wash is a chemical soup with many of the ingredients never even tested for safety according to the C.I.R. - Cosmetic Ingredient Review. The chemicals that are certified by the C.I.R have been tested on animals.

Cancer Linkage

This product contains a very toxic ingredient - COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE which has been linked to cancer in animal tests.

Reproductive Toxicity

This product contains one ingredient - ETIDRONIC ACID - linked to reduced fertility and a reduced chance for a full term healthy pregnancy.

Penetration Enhancers

Also present are penetration enhancers: TETRASODIUM EDTA. These agents work to infiltrate the skin membrane - i.e. penetration enhancer - and in doing so may increase exposures to carcinogens.

Untested Chemicals

AXE Revitalizing Shower Gel contains 3 chemicals that have not been assessed for safety in cosmetic formulas by the C.I.R. These chemicals are: PEG-5 COCAMIDE, ETIDRONIC ACID, GLYCERIN.

Recommendation

My advice is this, Don't Believe The Hype or the slick marketing by Unilever. Stay away from
AXE Revitalizing Shower Gel. If you use it now I strongly urge you to throw it in the trash.

Don't fill the coffers of a mega corp that KNOWINGLY uses toxic ingredients in their so called skin care products. Vote with your wallet and maybe Unilever in time will learn not to put their customer's health at risk.

The Unilever corporation reported an operating profit of 4.2 billion dollars in 2004 and they will not suffer if you don't buy this or any of their products again. However, if you use or continue to use this product you may suffer a myriad of health effects in the long term.

Certified Organic Alternative

There are legitimate alternatives to toxic products like these. You can make your own moisturizer products using natural ingredients.

Or, if you are someone who likes the peace of mind that your natural skin care products are certified organic I would refer you to the top rating natural body wash.

I just saw this on the news that tide how now put a double lid to help detour kids

I just saw this on the news that tide how now put a double lid to help detour kids from getting into these!! Wow within minutes of biting into these kids are wheezing and several kids have been on ventilators for days after biting into one!! So sad, thank goodness melaleuca has a detergent that even if swallowed will not harm our children!!!! www.workathomeunited.com/brandy

CINCINNATI - Children are mistaking brightly colored laundry detergent pods as candy and the problem is not decreasing in spite of manufacturers' measures to curb harm to users.
Almost 1,200 children have been poisoned after eating laundry detergent packets like Tide Pods in the last five months, according to a new report from ABC News . That's an increase of almost 950 cases since reports first surfaced in May about children swallowing the 1-inch cubes that are meant to be dropped into a washing machine in place of liquid or powder detergent.
In May, poison control officials reported about 250 cases of young children eating the brightly colored detergent balls and becoming sick since their introduction earlier this year.
Poison control centers around the country see an average of 10 cases a day where children have eaten the laundry detergent packets, according to the ABC report.
Children have started vomiting, wheezing and gasping for air within minutes of biting into one of the packets and at least 11 children have been placed on ventilators, according to the report. No one has died after swallowing a pod.
Cincinnati-based Proctor & Gamble, which produces Tide Pods, announced in May that it would create a new double-latch lid to deter children from accessing and eating the brightly colored detergent packets. The new contained designs will be on store shelves soon, representatives said. It’s current containers are not childproof.
Also, P&G says they are making the warning label on the container in larger print.
For the mean time, poison control centers are urging parents to put pods on a very high shelf, or better yet, locked up.

PET OWNERS- ARE YOU AWARE?

Recently someone had to have their 5-year old German Shepherd dog put down
due to liver failure. The dog was completely healthy until a few weeks ago,
so they had a necropsy done to see what the cause was. The liver levels were
unbelievable, as if the dog had ingested poison of some kind. The dog is kept
inside, and when he's outside, someone's with him, so the idea of him
getting into something unknown was hard to believe.
My neighbor started going through all the items in the house. When he got to
the Swiffer Wetjet, he noticed, in very tiny print, a warning which stated
'may be harmful to small children and animals.' He called the company to ask
what the contents of the cleaning agent are and was astounded to find out
that antifreeze is one of the ingredients (actually, he was told it's a
compound which is one molecule away from antifreeze).

Therefore, just by the dog walking on the floor cleaned with the solution,
then licking its own paws, it ingested enough of the solution to destroy its
liver. Soon after his dog's death, his housekeepers' two cats also died of
liver failure. They both used the Swiffer Wetjet for quick cleanups on their
floors. Necropsies weren't done on the cats, so they couldn't file a lawsuit,
but he asked that we spread the word to as many people as possible so they
don't lose their animals. This is equally harmful to babies and small children
that play on the floor a lot and put their fingers in their mouths a lot.

PLEASE, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE BABIES, SMALL CHILDREN OR OWN A PET; PLEASE
FORWARD THIS ON! YOU MAY NOT HAVE ANY CHILDREN OR PETS BUT SOME OF YOU HAVE
FRIENDS OR FAMILY WITH PETS AND ALSO FAMILIES WITH GRANDCHILDREN AND
GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
